You’ll be prompted to note the USB drive will be erased, which you’ll need to accept of course. You’ll be prompted to type your Mac’s administrator password, the characters for which will not appear as you type them input them anyway, then press Enter. ![]() ![]() Open Terminal, then type the command below and press Enter. Get a 16 GB or larger USB drive (which will be erased as part of this process, so ensure that it is backed up if necessary). Presuming you have the “Install macOS Monterey” installer present in your Applications folder:
